Serie A 2026/27 fixture release: here is what to expect

The countdown to another Serie A season has officially begun after the league unveiled the full 2026/27 fixture list at the Serie A Festival in Parma. As has become tradition, Italy was once again the first of Europe's major leagues to reveal its schedule, giving supporters plenty of time to start planning trips, away days and title-race predictions.
The new campaign begins on the weekend of 22-23 August 2026 and concludes on 29-30 May 2027. Along the way there will be two midweek rounds, a Christmas break and three international breaks, including an extended autumn pause.
For travelling supporters, the fixture computer has wasted no time in producing some huge encounters. Matchday three already delivers Inter vs Napoli, Juventus vs Milan and Roma vs Atalanta. September and October also feature heavyweight clashes including Roma vs Inter, Juventus vs Atalanta and Napoli vs Roma.
One date many neutrals will immediately circle is Matchday 10, which features both Juventus vs Napoli and the Derby della Madonnina between Inter and Milan. Meanwhile, the Derby della Capitale between Roma and Lazio arrives in December, it will be seen whether the Lazio Ultras have returned to the stadium by then. There's no time to rest, as another blockbuster spring schedule that could play a decisive role in the title race.
Looking ahead to the season itself, Inter enter as the team to beat after lifting the Scudetto, but the chasing pack looks stronger than ever. Napoli continue to strengthen, Juventus appear well positioned for another challenge, while Milan and Roma both have ambitions of returning to the summit of Italian football.

The promoted clubs also add intrigue. Venezia return with one of the most unique football destinations in Europe, while Frosinone and Monza are back in the top flight and eager to establish themselves.
