3 Points started because we found a problem. Football is everywhere, the choice is overwhelming. It sounds like a good problem to have, right? But where do we begin, let alone end:  do we visit Serie A? Head to sunny Spain? Try something new in Scandinavia?

 

One day, a group of friends and I decided we'd leave the decision to chance. A random generator, the date and nothing else. Drumroll please…Bologna v Lazio! It was a weekend for the record books. The buzz of arriving in a newly adopted city and football team is a wonderful feeling. Exploring the city and then taking in a game, quite literally a footballing holiday. We decided to upgrade the weekend and hopped on a train to Verona the following day to take in another game, as Verona drew with Monza. Understanding the local fan culture and the imprint it leaves in its place is a hobby of mine that will never die. It was an honour to exchange stories of English football versus theirs on the continent. Football is the same, but never the same.

 

On my way home I thought about it, we left this to the footballing Gods as it were, and we had an amazing time. There was the lightbulb moment. Let's build this for others to experience.
