Frankfurt have made a great start to the season and find themselves 3rd in the Bundesliga

The bad news is that we've hit another international break. The good news is that this is the last one until March 2025. The break gives us a chance to take stock across the continent as campaigns begin to build momentum. Table toppers are staking their claim and cementing their claims for a title push, whereas toward the bottom there are teams who are nervously seeing their campaign spiral into relegation battles.

While managers and supporters can draw a breath, players begin their international duty obligations. Meanwhile, 3 Points are here to summarise how the league campaigns are shaping up.

3 Points can take YOU a long way, with mystery football weekends across all of the leagues mentioned below. What are you waiting for? Start your mystery tour today – with the most flexible mystery football trips on the market. See here for more details on how it works.

Serie A 🇮🇹

Italy has the most enthralling title battle unravelling across all of Europe. There are just two points between 1st and 6th with little to separate the title runners and riders. Antonio Conte's Napoli are retain top spot for now after a fine start. One of their hiccups came against the form team Atalanta who sit a point behind. Fiorentina, Inter and Lazio are all in red hot form and have 25 points. Thiago Motta's Juventus are the last unbeaten team in the league but have drawn as many as they've won. It is the league to watch after the break and we can't wait to see how it pans out.

Roma have sacked their second manager of the season after a miserable start to the campaign, finding themselves in 12th. There have been difficult starts for Venezia and Como. Genoa might have brought Captain Chaos Mario Ballotelli back, but they need to start winning some games.

It’s too close to call in Greece, 3 teams on 21 points, PAOK a point behind that and Panathinaikos F.C a further point back. Who will take the initiative in the next wave of matches? Athens Kallithea F.C. have yet to win a game, but they aren’t bottom…

Superligaen 🇩🇰

It’s a three way tussle at the top: AGF, FC Copenhagen and FC Midtjylland are all locked on 27 points... Some big games lie ahead, with the top three all beating one of the other in recent weeks. Brøndby are 6th but have caused trouble to the title pack.

La Liga 🇪🇸

Hansi Flick and Barcelona have started impressively, no more so than the 4-0 demolition job at the Bernabéu. A hiccup just before the break has seen the door left slightly ajar for injury hit and out of form Real Madrid, who could be just 3 points behind if they win their game in hand. Ancelotti will want to see the best of new singing Mbappe after the break, who has had a relatively quite start to life in Spain. A special mention for Villarreal and Osasuna who have started the campaign well. Girona are struggling to balance the Champions League and domestic form, sitting 10th. Valencia find themselves at the foot of the table

Bundesliga 🇩🇪

Vincent Kompany's Bayern opened up a 5 point lead at the top before the break, unbeaten in the league amassing an impressive +26 goal difference to go with their 26 points. Closest rivals to the top are RB Leipzig, who prior to the last fortnight were keeping pace at the top. Frankfurt are flying, nobody more so than Omar Marmoush with 11 goals and 7 assists in the first 10 games. Leverkusen have not been their dominating self of late, drawing five of the early games. Dortmund are entertaining but brash at times, finding themselves in 7th behind impressive starters Freiburg and Union Berlin.

It's been a poor start for St Pauli, Bochum and Holstein Kiel making up the bottom three.

Sporting have been perfect. Played 11, won 11. Viktor Gyokeres' red hot goalscoring form has lit up the league. What will happen now Ruben Amorim has been departed for Manchester? Porto and Benfica make up the top three with an impessive start to the campaign for Santa Clara in 4th. All eyes on Lisbon...

Eredivisie 🇳🇱

PSV have flown out the traps winning 11 out of 12 but the recent trip up at Ajax has people wondering whether we might have a title battle on our hands after all. Ajax are six points back with a game in hand. FC Utrecht would also need to be in any conversation of a title fight, five behind.

Ligue 1 🇫🇷

PSG have started with a swagger and style to suggest they won’t hang around in making it four from 9 titles in 11 years. Yet to lose in the league, 29 points from a possible 33 make it hard to beat. Monaco are the closest competitors sitting in 2nd, there have been some memorable late victories this season already. If Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille can bring their away form back home they might be able to mount a consistent charge. Champions League Brest might be 4th in the Champions League table, but their European exerts are taking a toll in the domestic league.

Jose Mourinho might have brought the fireworks to Fenerbache, but it’s Galatasaray that have started with a bang. Unbeaten in the league and free scoring no doubt thanks to Victor Osimhen. Fener are 5 points back, crazier things have happened though...

First Division A 🇧🇪

It’s been a solid start of the season for Genk who have built themselves a 5 point cushion. Royal Antwerp come next in a bunched up race behind with Club Brugge, Anderlecht and Gent all vying for position. Last years runners up USG are off the pace in 7th

Is it a surprise to see Slavia at the summit over Sparta? Probably. Slavia are unbeaten and clear of second place by 8 points. You’ll have to keep scanning down to 4th to find their rivals, 12 off the pace. Viktoria Plzeň look like they’ll be the closest challengers...

Bundesliga 🇦🇹

It's SK Sturm Graz who lead the way in Austria with the two teams from Vienna snapping at their tails. Rapid find themselves two points clear of city rivals FK Austria Wien. FC Red Bull Salzburg are out of form and in 4th.

It's a marathon not a sprint but it is time for hopefuls to put a run together this side of Christmas that puts them in the running. There is still plenty of time for twists and turns, grab the popcorn...🍿

Stay tuned and up to date with all of this seasons drama with 3 Points.
